Gerald Johnson has returned to his home in Raleigh after spend ing several weeks with relatives in this community. Chester Glover called on his sister, Mr. and Mrs. Pete Creech, Sunday afternoon. Among those calling on the Mel vin Phillips Sunday were the Donk Creeches of Raleigh, the Noah Capps of Corinth, the Herman Bis setts of Buckhorn and Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Phillips of Middlesex. The Eugene Hintons were recent guests of the Leonard Wilders and the Doyt Hintons of Corinth. Miss Gretchen Hocutt of Wen dell called on the Frank Faucettes Friday night. Wendell Church To Observe Holy Week Wendell Presbyterian Church will observe Holy Week services today (Thursday) and Friday at 8 p.m. The services will be held at the church under the direction of the minister, the Rev. Scott M. Poole. The Rev. Mr. Poole will conduct Holy Week services at Banner Elk and Lees-McRae College from Sunday through Wednesday of next week. If all the people that sleep in church were laid end to end they would be a lot more comfortable. Bethany News Mrs. Myree Williford Kay Robertson and Ruth Gail Stanley are both confined to their homes with mumps. Pam Perry is also sick. Mrs. Martha Weathers has re turned to her home after a two weeks’ stay with her son in Hen derson. Mrs. Mary Watkins and son spent Monday with her mother, Mrs. Roxie Jones. Mrs. Annie Bell Underhill is sick. The Billy R. Bradsher family re cently moved to Raleigh. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Arnold and Linda Faye were Wednesday night supper guests of his parents, the A. L. Arnolds of New Hope. Among the visitors of Mrs. WilMe Bradsher last week were Ruby Jones, Hazel Phillips, Ruby Moody, Sarah Sherron, Cleone Weathers, Nora Duke, Martha Weathers, Roxie Jones, Frances Jones and Miriam Gay. Saturday visitors of Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Williford were the Lennie Willifords and the Bennie Willi ford family, the Julian Willifords and Donna Gail, all of Raleigh. Mrs. Christine Creech and Ruby Lee of Zebulon were Sunday after noon visitors of the P. P. Perrys. Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Perry of Zebulon were Saturday night sup per guests of Mr. and Mrs. Perry. Mrs. L. N. Broughton spent the weekend in Raleigh with her sis ter, Mrs. Maude Peebles. Sunday visitors of the Ira Deans were the Jack Crabtrees of Ra leigh and Mrs. Coy Franklin and children of Durham. The Rev.
